About
Hello, I'm Marley
Marley Henry is a registered midwife from Surrey, UK, and lives with her husband and five children, including a set of twins. She has practised midwifery across London and Surrey for 17 years, in both the NHS and private sectors.
Within the NHS she worked across every area of midwifery care: antenatal care as a community midwife, labour and birth care on birthing suites and birth centres, and postnatal care both on the ward and in the community.
In 2020 Marley left the NHS to work as an independent midwife, and now supports new and expectant parents both online and offline. She is the author of Midwife Marley's Guide for Everyone: Pregnancy, Birth & the Fourth Trimester (Bloomsbury, 2022) and co-author of Birthing with Davina McCall, published in September 2025.
She regularly contributes to press and media including Grazia, The Metro, Mother & Baby, Marie Claire, HuffPost, BBC and Channel 4, and speaks at events including The London Baby Show, The Black Maternal Health Conference and the Multiple Matters Symposium. She has spent years raising awareness of the Black maternal health crisis.
Her passion for helping parents have a positive birth experience led her to train as a hypnobirthing instructor with Katharine Graves in 2011, which also helped her to calmer, happier births of her own.
