Flying whilst pregnant (in an aeroplane not a cape 😁)

Flying whilst pregnant (in an aeroplane not a cape 😁) Some women love the idea of going on a babymoon; having that much needed break before the baby arrives. It's usually safe to fly if your pregnancy is low risk but whether you are actually able to depends on your airline. Many airlines wont allow you to fly if you are over 37 weeks pregnant. This is really because they dont fancy a baby being born mid flight! Some airlines stipulate lower gestation if you are carrying twins or more. If you want to fly after 28 weeks gestation, be prepared to ask your doctor or midwife for a letter agreeing that you are fit to fly as your airline will probably want one. Do always check with your care provider though if you are planning on travelling anywhere by air. Flying for more that 4 hours increases the risk of thrombosis or blood clots in the leg sobe sure to get yourself some compression stockings and move around the aircraft often to move your legs. I travelled to Turkey when I was 16 weeks pregnant which was a 5 hour flight.
