I first posted this last year and it still gets on my nerves. Why does an upright baby that can walk = cows milk in a cup? . The world health organisation recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months and also notes that feeding up until 2 years of age and beyond is also beneficial for babies. For some bizarre reason, many people in western society find it strange to see a woman feeding a baby that is older than say 3 or 4 months old. . . I personally have had the 'arent you going to stop soon' comments from people when nursing my last baby and my newest one who wasn't even 9 months old at the time! Just because a baby has teeth, does not mean they should have to stop being breastfed. Just because they start walking at a year old does not mean they should have to stop breastfeeding. Just because they start saying 'mama' and 'dada' does not mean they have to stop breastfeeding. . Noone should be pressured into breastfeeding to begin with and noone should be pressured into stopping. . . . . .
