I never knew

By Marley Henry · 10 June 2020

I never knew.... This is me in around 1987 and approximately 6 years old. I never knew what the world had in store for me. I never knew that I would be called racist names at school from age 6-12. I never knew that I would experience the loss of a baby at 22 weeks gestation when just 17 years old. I never knew that I would become a mother again at 18 years old. I never new that one day I would be taking my sleeping newborn in his carseat into college so I could sit in lectures. I never knew that I would spend 8 years at University jumping into midwifery after graduating in broadcast media. I never knew that one day I might just make a difference to someones birth experience. I never knew that I would have twins! I never knew that my dad would leave the earth at just 59 years old. I never knew that I would meet the love of my life in my 30's and have 2 more beautiful children. I never knew that I would create a platform to share educational information to expectant & new parents that would become so popular. I never knew that life would be such a rollercoaster... . Being 6 years old I didn't have a clue what the next 30 odd years had in store but as I grew, I always knew that I was special, that my cup was always half full, I never gave up and I would always make the most of any situation that was thrown at me. #iamgrateful
