Just as I was about to post this, I came on insta and saw a post by @thepregnancyfoodcompany regarding @littlepeachlondon and her decision to stop posting her breastfeeding pictures due to disgsuting abuse she received online. I think it's incredibly sad when people can happily watch nature programmes of animals feeding their young but humans it's deemed obscene. . The world health organisation recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months and also notes that feeding up until 2 years of age and beyond is also beneficial for babies. For some bizarre reason, many people in western society find it strange to see a woman feeding a baby that is older than say 3 or 4 months old. . I personally have had the 'arent you going to stop soon' comments from people when nursing my last baby and my newest one who isn't even 9 months old yet! Just because a baby has teeth, does not mean they should have to stop being breastfed. Just because the start walking at a year old does not mean they should have to stop breastfeeding. Just because they start saying 'mama' and 'dada' does not mean they have to stop breastfeeding. Noone should be pressured into breastfeeding to begin with and noone should be pressured into stopping.
