Myths and old wives tales..... There are plenty of them! Some that people swear by but aren't really backed up by much scientific evidence.

One that MAY have some truth to it though is that severe heartburn means your child is likely to be born with lots of hair.

Some studies noted that those who suffered with pretty bad heartburn also gave birth to babies with quite a bit of hair on their heads!

This is thought to be because those women Had high levels of oestrogen and other pregnancy hormones that not only cause hair to grow faster, but also cause the oesophagus to relax more, meaning more heartburn.
