Some of the comments and questions I've heard from dad's during and after birth. Many are prepared for the birth experience, and many aren't.

Whilst the primary focus is and always will be the baby and mum/one giving birth, dads/partners need to be supported and educated too. It can be overwhelming!

Both parents should seek some form of antenatal education, which includes what to expect in the early days after having a baby. Being unprepared can lead to anxiety when experiencing simple things like meconium.

If you're the parent not giving birth, don't have any expectations as to how your partner will behave and how they will feel during the process. There are monumental shifts that take place physically, emotionally and mentally. These can take a long time to adjust to.

Remember that in reality, it looks a lot different to what you see on TV!

We have lots of live and instant access courses that cover all areas of having a baby over at nowbaby.co.uk that are suitable for all parents and birth partners.
