Stretchmarks are a common part of pregnancy as many women will get them on their abdomen, breasts and other places such as the thighs. They are a result of skin stretching rapidly and although they may look unsightly at first, they usually fade over time (but never fully disappear) Whether you get stretchmarks or not will depend on the type of skin you have as some people have more elastic skin than others. Often stretchmarks are unavoidable but there may be some steps you can take to reduce the severity of them. Following a healthy diet (but not dieting) in pregnancy can help prevent a rapid weight gain. There isn't much evidence that proves the various creams on the market will prevent stretchmarks however a couple of studies have shown that regular skin massage may reduce the appearance of them. Using creams won't harm but remember if you use a particular cream and dont get stretchmarks, you may not have got them anyhow! Stretchmarks cannot be removed with any products/creams after they have formed but many women find that stretchmarks are usually confined to the lower half of the abdomen and that the initial redness does tone down eventually, leaving silvery lines. . . . . . . . . . . . . . #skin #skincare #pregnancy #postpartum #skincareroutine #love #pregnancybefore #face #beautiful #postpartumbody #natural #postnatalbody #body #health #cosmetics #antenatal #facial #baby #like #studies #spa #health #healthyskin #pregnancyeducation #selfcare #follow #instagood #healthy #stretchmarks #bhfyp
