Travelling in a car during pregnancy isn't always the most comfortable experience, wspecially in the third trimester. Going over bumps and potholes can be a right pain! However, there are many ways to stay as safe as possible when you jump in a car. If you’re pregnant, according to the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) you should:
Always wear a three-point seat belt.
Make sure the shoulder belt goes over the shoulder, collarbone and down across the chest, between the breasts.
Make sure the lap belt is worn as low as possible under your bump and the baby.
Adjust the seat belt to fit as comfortably as possible, and adjust the seat too if necessary . Wearing the seatbelt so low can put pressure on your bladder so make sure you go to the toilet before you embark on any journeys!
