Coping with contractions

By Marley Henry · 28 August 2019

Coping with contractions. We all get to a point when we hit a wall. We have been coping so well through the contractions then all of a sudden they ramp up a gear and you feel like its unbearable. This might happen when your waters break or even you change position suddenly. Sometimes it just kinda comes out of nowhere! Thankfully though for most women, this 'hitting the wall' means the beginning of the end of labour 😊 Transition into the second stage, the stage at which you are going to push your baby out. This is the point when many women feel they want to give up but although the contractions become intense, they may start to come further apart, giving you chance to catch your breath. When each contraction comes, take it 10 seconds at a time and remember you can do anything for 10 seconds. Before you know it, the contraction will be over and you will get a short breather before going again! . . . . . #birth #naturalbirth #contractions #hypnobirthing #labour #labor #pain #childbirth #laboranddelivery #obgyn #midwife #midwifery #midwifelife #pregnancylife
