Did you know that during extreme heat waves, covering your stroller or pram with a blanket to shade the baby from the sun can actually cause their body temperature to increase dramatically? Various tests have shown that the temperature inside a covered pram can incresee by up to 12°c in around 20 minutes. This can put babies at real risk of heat stroke. Babies can be shielded from the sun by avoiding direct sunlight as much as possible or using a parasol umbrella that attaches to the pram.
