Ever felt those funny little periodic twitches or spasms in your abdomen when you are in the second half of your pregnancy? Your baby probably has hiccups (also called hiccoughs) Many babies will get these and it's totally normal but even if they don't, thats ok too!

They dont cause any harm or discomfort to the baby and there is a theiry that they may play a role in lung maturation. You may notice that they happen in clusters, the same way that we as adults get them. You may even see your belly jumping each time your baby gets them 😆 As normal as hiccups are, they dont count when considering your baby's movements. If your baby is quieter than usual or movements are absent but they are getting hiccups, dont count this as a movement and contact your care provider.

Did you experience these? If so how often did you get them?
