I hear lots of women worry about the state of their cervix in the last few weeks of pregnancy. They assume that you hit a gestation when things 'should' be starting to happen down there. . Unfortunately routine cervical examinations during pregnancy, have contributed to this anxiety. This isn't such an occurance in the UK but I know in other countries cervical examinations in pregnancy are offered but I'm not sure what purpose they serve? . How dilated you are (or are not) does not tell us anything about when you will go into labour - unless you're already in labour!! So please don't worry if you are 38, 39, 40 weeks and your cervix is closed - that's pretty normal and pretty OK. I have explained this in more detail in my blog post, link in bio 😊 . . . . . . . . . . #childbirth #pregnancy #birth #doula #childbirtheducation #pregnant #naturalbirth #cervix #birthwithoutfear #baby #motherhood #birthdoula #doulalife #newborn #homebirth #midwife #prenatal #laboranddelivery #breastfeeding #pregnantlife #empoweredbirth #midwifery #waterbirth #positivebirth #birthsupport #naturalchildbirth #babybump #childbirtheducator #momtobe
