M Y B A B Y W O N' T S L E E P A T N I G H T . I'm no baby sleep expert but I do know that babies are not born understanding the concept of sleeping at night time. In fact, lots of women will agree that their baby appears to sleep more in the day than during the night during the postpartum period! . If you think back to pregnancy, you may have noticed baby kicking more in the evening when you have stopped being active. You spend the day moving around and rocking the baby to sleep in the womb, the moment evening hits, you stop and baby wakes! . That continues after the birth and takes time for it to change. How long it takes depends on the baby, routine, temperament etc. I'm pretty sure a baby sleep expert such as @babysleep.answers or @charmaine.walters would be able to give a better insight into this! . If you are expecting a baby, do expect the early days to be confusing for your baby, exhausting for you as they sleep and wake around the clock. . You may find that your baby sleeps beautifully for the first day or after birth as the effects of any medication you had during labour wear off. Even if you had a med free birth, it can be an exhausting process for babies! Once this wears off, you will find that baby magically 'wakes up' . What helped you to get through the first week or two of sleepless nights?
