Most babies' umbilical cords have three blood vessels: one vein, which brings nutrients from the placenta to baby, and two arteries that bring waste back to the placenta. . A two vessel cord however has just one vein and one artery. It is often picked up on routine ultrasound during pregnancy. . If a two vessel cord is present, it can mean that there may be problems with the baby's growth and/or kidney function so the baby will be monitored closely. . Quite often though, babies with two vessel cord don't have any problems whatsoever! . . . . . . . . . . #birthplan #birth #scan #childbirth #antenatalclass #naturalbirth #childbirthwithoutfear #hypnobirthing #pregnant #pregnancyhealth #pregnancy #sonogram #labour #labor #midwives #midwife #birthcentre #birthcenter #doula #birthpartner #homebirth #fetus #postnatal #education #babybump #bellybump #40weekspregnant #healthymama #ultrasound #4dultrasound
