No matter who your birth partner is - the baby's father, your mum, friend, sister etc, their role is more than simply watching the baby enter the world. It can be a long and tiring process for both of you but there are plenty of things that they can do to help! . Aside from the physical aspect ie mopping your brow with a cool cloth, ensuring you have plenty of water or lending a hand to squeeze, a birth partner should be able to act as your advocate. They should understand what your wants and needs are by familiarising themselves with your birth plan if you have written one. Sometimes women in labour need someone to help explain to health professionals what they want, especially if they are in the throws of labour! . In early labour, having someone to talk to and distract you is also something that a birth partner can do as well as offer words of encouragement when labour becomes more intense 😊 . . . . . . . . . #fetalpositioning #easierbirth #maternitycare #preggers #prenatalbodywork #wheresbaby #gailtully #postpartum #birthphotography #love #obgyn #midwives #midwiferycare #labor #doulas #hypnobirthing #medical #birthcenter #hospitalbirth #positivebirth #studentmidwife #doctor #birthpartner #support #family #health #mother #maternity #ostetrica #nursing
