Spotty breakouts in pregnancy are common

Spotty breakouts in pregnancy are common. It tends to hit sometime in the first trimester - usually around 6 weeks. Hormone surges, of course (in this case, progesterone which causes your glands to increase acne-causing secretions of oil, called sebum) can clog up pores and cause bacteria to build up, leading to breakouts. And your body is also retaining more fluid which contain toxins that can lead to acne breakouts. For most women as the pregnancy progresses the skin tends to clear up and they may even start to glow! If you do find that you have broken out in early pregnancy, be sure to keep your skin clean and moisturised with an oil free moisturiser to help with the discomfort and itchiness that you may experience. Aside from spots, you may find that your skin becomes dry during pregnancy and some women even report pigment changes often with their skin having darker areas on the face. . . . . . . . . . #healthypregnancy #pregnancy #pregnant #fitpregnancy #mumtobe #maternity #weekspregnant #thirdtrimester #acn3 #momlife #spots #baby #secondtrimester #6weekspregnant #birth #healthy #babybump #holistichealth #babyonboard #healthybaby #skincare #postpartum #fitness #health #babyontheway #healthyliving #bump #motherhood #momtobe #health
