This was a learning curve for me. It was always drummed into us that those giving birth for the first time will take hours, even days to labour. Majority is not all.

Intuition is often confused with anxiety, leading people to become dismissive of a person's concerns. Intuition doesn't begin as a conscious feeling or as a result of over thinking something. It's a knowing that is indescribable, powered by signals from the body, environment, memory, and other sensory factors.

From that day, when anyone ever said to me "something feels off" or "I don't feel right", I couldn't ignore it, even if I'm not seeing any outward signs of an issue.

Midwives have intuition too. Tuning into it can take time and experience.
