Today is the International Day of The Midwife, and this year's theme is 'from evidence to reality'. There is a need for governments to acknowledge the evidence supporting our profession and the care we provide families, and to use this to provide better working conditions for midwives, leading to improved outcomes during pregnancy, birth and postnatally.
I have set aside today to answer your questions in the comments sections. Whether you're an expectant parent, student midwife, or anyone who has something to ask a midwife, feel free to ask away! If it's something I can't answer, I will try to point you in the direction of someone who may be able to.
Tagging some wonderful midwives whose books I have been reading in recent months:
@mixing.up.motherhood The Birth Debrief by Illiyin Morrison
@midwifethinking Why Induction Matters by Rachel Reed
@sheena_byrom Squaring The Circle by Sheena Byrom OBE & Professor Soo Downe
@the_modern_midwife A Modern Midwife's Guide To Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond by Marie Louise
@the_hypnobirthing_midwife Holistic Hypnobirthing by Anthonissa Moger
And of course my book - Midwife Marley's Guide For Everyone: Pregnancy, Birth & The Fourth Trimester.
Wishing you all an enjoyable Bank Holiday weekend 🌟
