Many aspiring midwives contact me telling me that they want this career path because they love babies. I remind them that midwifery is not all about babies. Babies are the 'grand finale' of the care package. . Midwifery literally means being 'with woman' (or birthing person).

By caring for her throughout her journey to motherhood, you are also caring for the baby. Individualised care, an open ear and being able to put aside your own beliefs and biases are all key to providing excellent midwifery care. . What qualities & skills do you feel a midwife should possess? As a past, current, or future mother to be, describe your ideal midwife in the comments 👇🏽👇🏽
