Surviving childbirth with a live baby is the bare minimum.

We should be striving for more than this.

I attended an excellent training last week with @wra_uk hosted by @amity.reed and @theperinatalspecialist The 'Free From Harm' training will be available for health professionals next year and I feel it's absolutely essential for all perinatal health professionals and birthworkers.

I hear stories daily from women who have received suboptimal care with incidents ranging from microagressions, lack of privacy, gatekeeping pain medication, coercion and lack of respect of their wishes, to carrying out procedures without consent. All of these tantamount to obstetric violence.

We must do better, and that includes calling out harmful treatment when we witness it.
