Pelvic girdle pain (PGP) is the umbrella term for all pelvic pain, including pubic pain which was previously called symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD). PGP includes pain anywhere from the lumbar spine/abdomen down to the thigh, either at the front or back. . The most common type of pain experienced is at the front of the pelvis on the pubic bone. It can hurt when walking, moving or opening legs too far. This is caused by the softening of ligaments in the pelvis due to pregnancy. . Some women find that a belly support band helps whilst others who are severely affected may end up using crutches to get around. . PGP is usually not serious and after a potential referral to a physiotherapist, it will resolve itself after the pregnancy . . . . . . . . #pelvicfloor #womenshealth #pelvichealth #pelvicpain #kegels #pelvicfloorhealth #pelvicfloordysfunction #health #postpartum #incontinence #physiotherapy #pelvicfloorexercises #pregnancy #repost #fitness #physicaltherapy #menopause #vulvodynia #dyspareunia #mypelvicfloormuscles #mypfm #endometriosis #interstitialcystitis #vaginismus #postpartumfitness #pt #icwarrior #obgyn #diastasisrecti #bhfyp
