According to research published by the NHS, routine supplements of mutlivitamins in pregnancy are unnecessary in healthy women with a healthy diet. They do however recommend taking routine vitamin D and folic acid. Vitamin D is thought to help with baby's bone development and folic acid taken in the first trimester can reduce the risk of the baby developing neural tube defects such as spina bifida. . Routine iron is also unnecessary as it can cause an upset stomach, constipation or diarrhoea, however if your routine blood test shows your iron level is low, you may be advised to take them. . Supplements containing vitamin A should absolutely be avoided as there is a risk that too much vitamin A can cause birth defects. . . . . . . . . . . . #vitamins #health #nutrition #supplements #healthy #fitness #vegan #minerals #healthylifestyle #wellness #organic #gym #beauty #healthyfood #protein #workout #vitaminc #diet #iherb #skincare #bodybuilding #antioxidants #energy #food #natural #nutrients #detox #motivation #supplement #pregnancy
