Infertility is defined as not being able to conceive after 12 months of regular unprotected sex. In the UK around one in 10 men and 1 in 8 women will experience fertility issues for a variety of reasons, some even unexplained.

When couple experiences infertility, society is quick to label the female as being the one unable to conceive but both partners need to be evaluated, male factor infertility really is a thing too!

If you have be trying to conceive for a while and have been having sex at least 2-3 times per week, it might be worth contacting your GP or primary care provider for further support and investigations.

I can only imagine the heartache of struggling to conceive a child. Be mindful when you are with family/friends who you assume should 'have children by now' you never know what they may be going through silently.
